Volkswagen has finally announced the pricing of the luxurious XL1 for the UK.

The British will have to part with roughly $168,930 in order to be able to drive the new diesel plug-in hybrid. Only 30 cars will be sold throughout the country, which makes the hybrid very exclusive, hence the high price.

XL1 is currently the most fuel-efficient car in the world and is considered to an eco and technology pioneer in its field.

Unfortunately, Volkswagen does not have any plans of importing the new XL1 to the US market. The German car manufacturer does not want its state of the art hybrid to compete in the American SUV and trucks-dominated market.

So, those who wish to purchase the XL1 will need to find a way to import it from somewhere.
