Registration of Commercial Vehicles on the Rise

Class 3 through Class 8 new commercial vehicle registrations increased by 8.3% in the first quarter of 2014 in comparison with the same period in 2013. This means that 143,245 new vehicles were registered altogether during this period.

New registrations stayed at almost the same levels since 2011. The amounts for the first quarter of 2014 are actually 3% lower than those from the last quarter of 2013. Since 2010, only in one quarter the new registrations topped 150,000. Usually the registration in the first quarter of the year are higher than the last quarter of the previous one, but in 2014, this is not the case.

Class 3 increased by 7.5% and Class 7 Рby 2%. The highest jumps were in Class 4 Рby 14.5%, and Class 8 Рby 9.2%. For Class 4, the most important factor was new registrations of 500-unit fleets.
