Security freeze may be the way to really go. 10 bucks per individual, per Credit Reporting Agency. Total cost to set up for wife and myself 60 bucks, alot cheaper than 240 per year…every year. Any time you need to give access costs 10 bucks unless you are over 60 then its free. The hassle is usually that the utility or cc organization isn’t sure about the way to use the pin you give them. You really have the choice to take out the freeze for a period each time you need it. btw should you have so many bills or are behind in paying them, simply assume your credit score sucks and do not take out anymore credit, get what you got paid up and then your score will improve.
