$3.87 Average Price of Diesel Expected in Summer

The U.S. Energy Department’s Short Term Energy Outlook report expects that this summer, diesel and gasoline prices will be at slightly lower levels than during the same time last year.

In the period April to September 2013, the average diesel price was $3.89, which is two cents higher than the expectations for this summer. The price of gasoline is also expected to be lower than that of last summer – $3.57 compared with $3.58 last year.

The forecast for the whole 2014 is that the average price of diesel will be $3.85, while in 2013 it was $3.92. As for gasoline, the projection is $3.45, while last year it was $3.51.
