Alabama enacted and made effective HB 381 on April 10, 2008 to give courts the power to pronounce a dog as dangerous and order its destruction. This law requires the dog’s owner to obtain a surety bond of $100,000.00 or more to cover expenses resulting from any future perilous actions of the dog.
