On 04/09/2009, a new law was enacted relating to individual loan officers in the state of Michigan. The new law which is labeled SB 379 excuses individual loan officers from the requirement of acquiring a surety bond that pertains to both mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers. SB 379 became active upon enactment.
