JW Surety Bonds Honors Heroes of 9/11

Last year in memory of the tragedies of September 11th, JW Surety Bonds formed a team of 15 dedicated participants in the Travis Manion Foundation’s annual 9/11 Heroes Run. We returned Sunday, September 7, 2014, 23 strong, complete with many younger members of our JW Surety Bonds family. We enjoyed a picture perfect day as we ran and walked with an inspired goal to complete the 3.1+ mile course.

The Travis Manion Foundation was inspired by the death of Marine 1st Lt. Travis Manion, a local hero who was fatally shot by a sniper on April 29, 2007 on his second tour of duty supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. The organization was formed by Travis’ mother, the late Janet Manion, to “honor the fallen by challenging the living”.

Janet’s tireless effort to help veterans and families of fallen soldiers lives on through her family and volunteers throughout the country. A large part of their awareness and fundraising effort lies in the 9/11 Heroes Run 5k races and fun runs held around the anniversary of 9/11. What started as one race in Doylestown, Pennsylvania in 2008 has now grown to almost 50 races that take place across the United States and around the world.

We at JW Surety Bonds were proud to take part in the Heroes Run this year and thank the Manion family and our local volunteers for making this day possible. It was truly a memorable event!
