While experiencing the effects of a post-recession population boom, southern Nevada is also seeing an increase in employment and overall better economic conditions. This means that construction is also on the rise, as with more people living there, more homes are needed.
Even though the construction industry was seriously affected by the crisis, it seems to be picking up strongly now in the presence of positive economic stimuli. Many companies are adding new staff, especially since the beginning of 2014. The employment growth in the sector is 8.3% over the past year. People who moved because of losing their construction job are now coming back as well, as the industry is back on its feet in southern Nevada.
Not all work that construction companies get involves new building. In this revival period, their projects are often focused more on remodeling and repairs.
