On 02/18/2009, a new bill was introduced with reference to heating oil storage tanks in Connecticut. The new bill, HB 6501, eradicated the surety bond condition for all residential underground heating oil storage tank system contractors in the state. The previous law called for a surety bond in the amount of $250,000. The new bill was enacted on June 9th, 2009.
